About Mia Manney
From the very first time I stepped onto the soccer field to being a fan in energetic stadiums watching soccer, football, and baseball to coaching soccer, I have been hooked. I hoped that sports would be an integral part of my future and now I am taking the steps to make that hope a reality. As an undergraduate at DePauw University, I was a goalkeeper on the Women\'s Varsity Soccer team. During my senior year at DePauw, I wrote my Senior Honors Scholar thesis about the USWNT\'s use of Twitter as a method of performative activism in its Equal Pay Campaign. Having finished my undergraduate degree, I am now seeking a concurrent JD/MBA at the University of Oregon, specializing in Business Law and Sports Business. I believe that this education will provide me with the important foundations of the sports industry, and I will learn invaluable skills that I can use throughout my career.
