ABOUT MIA HETHERINGTON
I’m not just a freelancer brought in to execute a checklist. I’m a trusted event professional and chameleon, able to step into fast-paced environments and support teams wherever I’m needed to help bring events to life.I’m currently in my third year of studying International Festival and Event Management at Edinburgh Napier but I’ve been involved in events since I was 14. Growing up around live events has built my confidence and professionalism and while I’m often the youngest person in the room, I’m trusted to handle responsibility and perform under pressure.I’ve worked across major festivals and live events including Mighty Hoopla, Terminal V, Manchester Pride, Heritage Live at Sandringham Estate and Brockwell Live’s Summer Sessions. My experience spans roles such as Site Controller, Event Control Logger, Production Assistant and control room support, helping me stay calm, communicate clearly and support safe, well-run events. In 2024, I spent eight months in Ghana as a volunteer teacher and Group Coordinator, where I managed logistics, travel and day to day organisation. This strengthened my leadership, problem-solving and adaptability, skills I now bring into every event I work on. Alongside freelance work, I’ve built a reliable, approachable working style that teams enjoy working with.I hold a forklift licence, a clean driving licence and have access to bases across the UK, giving me flexibility to work nationwide. My work has been recognised through the 2024 Production Futures Outstanding Achievement Award and I was a finalist for the 2025 Access All Areas Rising Star Award and Production Futures Newcomer of the Year Award.I work across event control, production and site support roles, adapting to the needs of each event and supporting teams from the first briefing through to final derig.More about me https://connect2955.wixsite.com/miaevents
