ABOUT MIA ALONSO
I am a second year architecture student in USC’s five year NAAB accredited architecture program, originally from Mexico City. My work approaches architecture as both a technical and cultural practice, with a focus on atmosphere, materiality, and context. I am interested in how spatial design functions as a narrative medium and shapes lived experience.Film and cinema strongly inform the way I think about space, particularly through composition, sequencing, and perception. This influence carries into my architectural work, where I focus on shaping environments through architecture and environmental design. I am especially engaged by large scale cultural and environmental projects that use structure and material to create immersive spatial experiences. I work well in collaborative settings and value a balance between creative rigor and organizational clarity in order to align conceptual intent with execution.
