About Mia Aaronson
As a senior undergraduate student at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, I have been tasked with navigating my life as a student in a rigorous academic environment and a young, curious woman growing in consciousness about social issues surrounding my community. I find passion in the various social justice campaigns I engage with at F&M, including acting as the Executive Officer for Social Justice and Equity of the Student Body, which challenges me to engage with my community on topics of inclusivity.I am passionate about Environmental Science and Math. I have the hope of not only understanding how our world works, but also teaching others what I have learned. I am interested in obtaining a Ph.D in Geological Sciences so that I can further explore cutting-edge machine learning and AI based techniques to solve some of our world\'s most pressing environmental problems. I hope to combine my passion for understanding the nuances of the scientific method with my innate love of communicating with people. My commitment and determination manifest themselves inside and outside of the classroom through my various extra-curricular activities. I have maintained a 3.86 GPA along with working 25 hours a week part-time, and committing to writing a senior honors thesis on riparian thermal signatures in the United States. I am always \"all-in.\"I am proud of my deep passion for what I believe in, my people skills, my enthusiasm for what I do, and my tenacity when encountering new experiences.
