Mark has over 42 years’ experience in a wide range of public and private sector projects in Europe, the Middle East and Far East, including more than 15 years based in Asia. His specialist expertise is in sustainable design and strategy development for urban planning / master planning, buildings and infrastructure development.He has a wide breadth and depth of expertise and experience in embedding sustainability across the full project lifecycle, from policy and strategy development, through design to construction and operation, with more than 20 years’ project experience covering land use, transport, water resources, energy, ICT, waste and minerals. He has extensive expertise in developing net zero strategies and whole life carbon analysis across single and multi-sectoral projects, from single buildings to large areas.Mark has worked on several high profile sustainability projects including Masdar City, UAE; Changsha Meixi Lake Eco-city, China; and Old Oak and Park Royal, London, UK. He has played a leading role in developing AtkinsRéalis’ Carbon Critical(TM) and other sustainability tools and services, including the award-winning Eco-Low Carbon Urban Planning Methodology, China and seed Sustainability Framework Tool based approach, UK.
