About Mark Heller
Blizzard Entertainment is a multimedia company best known for World of Warcraft and Overwatch video games. I\'m leading the quality effort for the services technology team presently covering web and client/server applications to assist with customer service activities and the eSports calendar.Magento Commerce, split off from eBay at the end of last year. I worked as a QA Leader working with a team developing web and mobile applications centered around retailer inventory management and MPOS.Previously, I worked for six months as a Software QA Lead at Critical Path Software which was then purchased by eBay. At eBay, I spent 4 more years as a QA on iOS and Android Mobile products like RedLaser. For the last year of my eBay tenure, I split my time between a client web development and a QA Lead/Manager role. Before Critical Path, I spent 11+ years as a QA Engineer and Leader at IBM (the first three of which were under Informix before purchase). I tested database performance and management tools, writing SQL queries and working through performance and stress scenarios spanning web, client and server commandline, black, white and grey box testing. For this work, I also wrote a Perl-based commandline automation system from scratch to assist with regression and performance measurements.Additionally, I spent 5 1/2 years teaching programming and game design part time at the Art Institute of Portland.Specialties: Management, Quality Assurance in software, and Game Design.
