ABOUT MATTHEW HEAD

Matthew | Lead Engineer | Dyslexia AdvocateNavigating dyslexia challenges, I\'ve built a successful career in automotive design. Starting with a BTEC national diploma in engineering, I began as an HGV technician for Volvo and Mercedes-Benz trucks. Pursuing further education, I earned a fast track MEng at Robert Gordon University, overcoming doubts about university study due to spelling limitations.During university, my team reached the finals of the MATE ROV competition, earning three awards. Post-graduation, I completed a graduate scheme with Siemens before joining Triumph Motorcycles as a design engineer, fulfilling my passion for motorcycles. Unfortunately, redundancy struck in 2020, leading me to establish Dyslexia Life Hacks (https://dyslexialifehacks.com) during my time off. This platform offers practical tips for dyslexics at home and work, inspired by a moment with a dyslexic mentor and Siri\'s assistance with spelling.I also host \"The Dyslexia Life Hacks Show,\" a podcast featuring conversations with dyslexia-related individuals discussing their experiences and support systems.As a senior vehicle design engineer, my work includes designing race cars and high-performance vehicles, including reverse engineering a 1960s Le Mans car. I later contributed to the design of electric vehicles for a technology start-up. Currently, I contribute to the design of cars at Jaguar Land Rover, applying my expertise to advance automotive technology.
