About Tara C. Mahadevan

My work as a journalist is an effort to champion music discovery, and emerging and indie artists—and to dig deep into the communities that rear them. Though I’ve been freelancing since 2011, my editorial internship with Complex Music in 2014 catapulted me into a career as a full-time freelance journalist for national and international outlets. Since then, I\'ve worked with various digital and print publications, including Red Bull, The Fader, The Village Voice, Pigeons & Planes, Genius and Clash, among others, where I specialize in culture, music, and the arts.While everything I’ve done in my career is rooted in my journalistic practice, it has led me to explore other fields within the music and entertainment industries. In addition to being skilled in creating written and video content, I am experienced in editing, managing writers and blogs, producing events, creative direction, project management, and media strategy.
