Key Skills- Leadership of major rail and underground programmes, delivering complex multi-disciplinary works across the full project lifecycle, including signalling, civils, rolling stock and systems integration ensuring safe, reliable, and passenger-focused outcomes in both mainline and deep tube environments- Strategic programme planning and delivery optimisation across UK Rail and London Underground, shaping delivery strategies, governance structures, and operational readiness plans that enhance safety, reliability, capacity, and value for money within highly regulated and operationally constrained rail networks- Inclusive, high-performance team leadership, providing progressive line management that develops engineering, construction, operations, and commercial teams aligned with the competency frameworks and safety culture expected by Network Rail, TfL/LU, and major delivery partners- Advanced stakeholder and interface management, building strong relationships with Network Rail, TfL/LU directorates, DfT, ORR, TOCs/FOCs and supply chain partners to secure alignment, manage operational interfaces, and support commissioning and handover to operations- Robust commercial, contractual, and technical management, including oversight of design development, engineering assurance (including LU’s stringent assurance regime), and the negotiation of complex commercial or scope changes across NEC, NR frameworks, TfL standard forms, and wider rail procurement models- End-to-end procurement and supply chain leadership, from OJEU/Find a Tender compliance through to contract award, ensuring supplier capability, safety performance, and delivery resilience, while aligning procurement strategies with PACE/GRIP stages and LU’s multi-gate assurance processes.
