WORK HISTORY
Business Operations Manager & Ai Lead @Empowerists
I work across a PE-backed portfolio to help leadership drive execution on high-priority initiatives spanning operating cadence, KPI visibility, M&A support, AI governance, and cross-company alignment. My role sits in the space between strategy and execution, where the work is often cross-functional, fast-moving, and not neatly owned by one team- Partner directly with the CEO to identify strategic and operational gaps across a four-company portfolio and help move high-impact initiatives forward- Designed and implemented a standardized KPI framework across portfolio companies covering financial, sales, and people metrics, with a biweekly executive reporting cadence used by ownership, the CEO, and company presidents- Support acquisition and divestiture activity, including diligence coordination, deal materials, and operational planning- Lead cross-portfolio operational initiatives including systems separation, governance improvements, and shared-services design- Helped establish portfolio-level AI governance, guardrails, and support models that enabled portfolio companies to pursue AI use cases within their own tech stacks- Designed and delivered leadership workshops, executive communications, and change support materials to improve alignment during periods of transition

ABOUT MAGGIE GEBARA
I’m a strategic operator who tends to get pulled into the messy middle: the high priority, cross-functional work that matters, does not sit neatly in one lane, and still needs to move.At Empowerists, I work across a PE-backed portfolio to help leadership drive execution on initiatives spanning KPI architecture, operating cadence, M&A support, AI strategy and governance, change management, and organizational alignment. In practice, that means spotting gaps, creating structure, aligning stakeholders, and helping turn ambitious plans into something real, workable, and not painfully overcomplicated. Before that, I built and ran operations across startups, regional organizations, and advisory work in Canada, the GCC, and MENA. I’ve launched ventures, supported founders, led teams, and built systems that were meant to hold up in real life, not just look good in a deck.I’m an expert generalist in the truest sense: commercially minded, operationally grounded, and comfortable moving between strategy, execution, communications, and transformation. I bring range, judgment, cultural fluency, and a fairly calm bias toward progress, even when things are moving fast and slightly sideways.Fluent in four languages and shaped by working across continents, I like building things that make sense, work under pressure, and make life easier for the people inside the business, not just the spreadsheet.I also do some of my best thinking outdoors, ideally after coffee and away from unnecessary noise.
