Teach second grade students in Title I school with focus on both data-informed instruction and the whole child, including students considered as English learners and newcomers- Achieve extraordinary results in teaching phonics and reading through robust whole class and small group instruction, including 7/21 students reading at least 5 multisyllabic words at BOY to 15/21 students reading at least 15 multisyllabic words by the end of T2- Utilize curricula from Illustrative Mathematics, Fountas & Pinnell Classroom, TCI Social Studies, Mystery Science, Kelly Boswell Writing Workshop model, quickly incorporating skills and research-informed practices learned in district PD and elective professional growth opportunities- Collaborate and communicate thoughtfully and promptly across the school campus between administrators, grade-level colleagues, social workers, resource teachers, and the office- Establish strong school-home connections by coordinating home visits with every interested family and by inviting families to the classroom throughout the year to learn about the curriculum and learn ways to provide academic support after school within their children’s zone of proximal development- Advise student council, moving meetings to a weekly basis and guiding 13 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade student leaders in creating PBIS expectation role-plays with the school social worker, promoting spirit days, planning methods to engage the student body in feedback surveys, and supporting at school events.
