About Ashwin Kumar
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering with 6 years of research experience in high-pressure combustion and propulsion systems. I\'m experienced in computational analysis (CFD) and experimental testing (planning, risk assessments, evaluation and mitigations, test set up, execution, post-test inspections, data reduction and review, and performance analysis) of high-pressure thermal systems.I am currently working on investigating supersonic jet noise at Afterburner conditions of a military style aircraft. I have experience in Experiment Designing, PIDs, Hardware/Instrumentation interfacing with Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems and writing Real-time Labview codes to conduct safe experiments.I have first hand experience in writing computational combustion codes for CANTERA, a global combustion community (published on CANTERA and AIAA). I have also worked on employing advanced Optical diagnostics like Rainbow Schlieren Deflectometry (RSD) in an effort to quantify the entropy waves, hypothesized to be the source for indirect combustion noise.I\'m defending my PhD in May 2024 and I\'m currently looking for full-time opportunities in areas of Thermal/Heat transfer/Combustion/Testing/Controls and Instrumentation/CFD
