About Matthew Funderburg

Connecting the dots outside the box Okay, I can explain what this means. Yes, I am one of those that thinks outside-the-box, which comes naturally to me. Yet a specific box is a part of me. I, being neurodivergent (Dyslexia and ADD). My box (brain) is physically wired differently than most but comes with a unique toolset. To be clear, it does not define my intelligence, but an enhancement to my individuality. As we all are different, mine happens to be finding connections and patterns to innovate and still find the time to play like a kid in a creative sense. I have thrived through trial and error with my differences. Once I stopped trying to hide these differences, I started achieving personal success in many areas of my life, and businesses have reaped the rewards. I know grit and endurance. It took me three tries to finish college, a 25-year endeavor, and it was with honors when I did achieve a degree. I consider myself as the tortoise versus the hare as the story goes. Yet, I can pick up the pace when close to the finish line. I have been fortunate to work with and meet with hundreds of talented, innovative individuals worldwide. From 5th graders to Ph.Ds, students to business leaders, and all the folks in-between across many industries and disciplines. I am passionate about technology and innovation. Those that have gotten to know me would say: Brilliant minded, big picture thinker,\"problem solving with options,\" forward thinker, and a creative thinker. Passionate, creative, optimistic, analytical, technical, detailed, a go-to, fascinating, curious, trainer, speaker, researcher, collaborator, influencer, leader, innovator, system engineer, system architect, coder, multimedia developer, artist, and barista. What advice do I have? With technology, there once was a wise old owl that taught me,\"How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?\" In design and system builds, the ingredients may be complicated with many flavors, but folks want to get to the good stuff quickly. What inspires me? Family, people, discovery, research in technology, science, and business. The latest news on GitHub. Books on science fiction. I find myself doing thought experiments with the technology that the author is introducing and how it could work. I will leave you with this thought of me. A learning activist. I am passionate, creative, and enjoy working with people in team settings or individually. I\'m that person that helps you think outside-the-box connecting the dots.
