The AHA\'s mission is to be a force for longer, healthier lives by advancing cardiovascular and brain health, and it achieves this through research funding, public health education, and advocacy. Research Funding:The AHA is the largest not-for-profit funding source for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research in the U.S, investing over $5 billion since 1949. Public Health Education:The AHA provides CPR and ECC training, and offers educational resources on healthy lifestyles, including guidelines on healthy eating and exercise. Advocacy:The AHA advocates for policies that promote cardiovascular health and reduce barriers to care. Community Engagement:The AHA works with schools, families, and communities to promote healthy living, including programs like the Kids\' Heart Challenge.
