ABOUT MERON SHAWEL AYCHILUHIM
I am Meron Shawel Aychiluhim, and I work at the intersection of conflict & political economy analysis, gender justice, and programme support, with a strong academic background in Violence, Conflict and Development (MSc, Distinction – SOAS) and applied experience supporting human rights research, donor-funded programmes, and advocacy initiatives in fragile and displacement-affected contexts.Across roles in NGOs, research organisations, and consultancies, I have developed strong skills in- Translating complex information into briefings, reports, and practical insights, such as Human Rights Due Diligence research on corporate accountability in CAHRAs- Supporting the project cycle (proposals, coordination, monitoring, reporting)- Working collaboratively with civil society, institutional partners, and international teams- Operating with accuracy and adaptability in fast-paced, sensitive environmentsSubstantively, my focus lies on gender-based violence, displacement, and conflict sensitivity, informed by research on CRSV, peacebuilding, and transitional justice, as well as field-based learning in post-conflict settings.I approach this work with a commitment to locally led, accountable, and people-centred approaches, and with an interest in how aid & programmes can be more effective and better respond to power dynamics, protection risks, and the lived realities of affected communities.I am particularly interested in roles within NGOs, charities, UN agencies, and philanthropic organisations where I can continue to grow as a programme support professional—contributing analytical rigour, organisational reliability, and collaborative working practices to teams responding to complex humanitarian and development challenges.
