My role as a break leader is to teach a class about the humanitarian crisis at the southern border and how it continuously affects the lives of immigrants and generations beyond, within, and outside the US. I was a participant last year and had the opportunity to serve a community in need again. During my spring break, the participants of the DeCal and I will be driving down to San Diego and working alongside Border Angels, a non-profit organization that conducts water drops on the US side of the border and does Day Laborer Outreach. We not only give supplies and food to these individuals, but we also supply them with \"Know Your Rights\" cards, listen to their stories, and recognize the journeys and sacrifices they have made.
