ABOUT MERELL LYSTRA R.
I envision a developed world with sustainable operations. My mission is to become one of the problem solvers for our decarbonization efforts to reach #NetZero2050. I want to create an impact with my chemical engineering background and interest in nuclear energy and technologies through research and development (R&D) in the industry. Throughout my academic journey, I am actively involved in research activities and diverse professional networks in non-profit organizations. I strive for excellence, encourage collaboration, promote organization and creativity in everything I do. My research and technical experiences involve 3D modelling using neutron tomography data, structure determination using powder and single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques and basic understanding of the nuclear data cycle for energy and non-energy applications. I am particularly interested in non-destructive techniques and simulation in solving problems - to translate data into impact. I found the fusion of my science interests and engineering skills in chemical engineering. I am highly motivated and passionate to apply my expertise for a more sustainable world. Personally, I am committed to reduce my carbon footprint by opting to make small changes in my habits. I love writing, reading and watching movies. Feel free to recommend some interesting stuffs!
