About Meredith Barteck

I\'m an Emmy-winning storyteller using multi-media platforms to creatively and compassionately tell the stories of UC Health’s staff and patients in my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. I also host and emcee events/conferences as well as consult and coach UC Health employees and leaders to better tell their own stories and strategies. I believe in the powers of confidence, encouragement, and empathy. Previously, I worked at WLWT in Cincinnati as the main morning reporter, pitching, writing, and reporting on stories. I also filled in at the anchor desk for morning, afternoon, and evening newscasts. I won an Emmy for reporting, directing, and producing a national documentary focusing on anti-sex trafficking efforts in Cincinnati. I also earned two Emmy nominations for Breaking News coverage. Before returning home, I worked as a morning anchor and morning reporter at WXII in North Carolina. I started my career as an one-woman-band and full-in anchor at WSAV in Savannah, Georgia. There I earned a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Social Media for Hurricane Matthew coverage and first place in the Georgia Associated Press Awards for Best Feature Reporting.I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elon University in May 2016 with a degree in broadcast journalism and a supporting minor in entrepreneurship. While in college, I interned with 60 Minutes in New York, WLWT and WCPO.Outside of work, I love to run, perform, serve my communities through music and advocacy, combat human trafficking, kayak, volunteer, paint and cheer on the Reds, Bengals, FC Cincinnati, Elon Phoenix and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Using multi-media platforms, I capture organic moments of emotion, breakthrough and triumph to celebrate the UC Health community to share through internal and external channels. I shoot, write, and edit my stories as well as work with teammates and vendors to create collaborative pieces. Using the power of storytelling, I work each day to build bridges in our healthcare system and the Greater Cincinnati to share the of message of “In Science Lives Hope.”
