About Meredith Herman
Let’s connect—especially if you’re passionate about pathology, medical education, creativity, or innovative ideas!I’m an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) resident at the University of Michigan and future fellow in cytopathology. My research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital pathology, social media–driven education, pathology outreach, and clinical projects across subspecialties, all aimed at enhancing diagnostic practice and learner engagement.I’m motivated by mentorship and growth. I co-founded and advise the Michigan State University Pathology Interest Group, mentor dozens of students across training levels, and helped create scholarships at Michigan State University in music and biomedical laboratory science to expand access and support the next generation of learners. I’m also a major contributor to Match to Pathology (Matchtopath.com).Nationally, I’m engaged in projects focused on advancing pathology education, digital innovation, and professional development. I collaborate with organizations including the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), and the Digital Pathology Association (DPA) to develop initiatives that link technology, training, and patient care while supporting mentorship, outreach, and the next generation of pathologists.
