What does it mean when I say I\'m \"an engineer by education and an artist at heart\"? It means I have a unique way of thinking. I have the ability to analyze situations from a variety of different angles, and I can step into different roles to evaluate the same information but from a completely different perspective. It means that I appreciate a logical, process-driven approach to problem solving while simultaneously understanding that perfect logic doesn\'t always underlie \"real-life\", and it\'s always necessary to account for the nuances of people and circumstances. It means that I appreciate understanding both the facts of a situation and the feelings surrounding it. In a sense, it means that I am a walking contradiction in terms. However, unconventional as the combination may seem, I\'ve found it to be quite beneficial. Having traits atypical of engineers and artists is precisely the thing that actually makes me better at being both of them.
