I am a counselor, professor, activist, and researcher who enjoys working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds and perspectives on their healing and exploratory journeys. I take a trauma-informed, intersectional feminist perspective in an effort to assist in promoting self-compassion and overall wellness, both individually and structurally.I am currently employed as a Licensed Professional at The Arizona Relationship Institute using a range of modalities, including CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, play therapy, internal family systems, and somatic healing. I worked as an (LAC) at Zarephath Community Services with children and families in the community, including members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe for 3 years. I have experience with gang-affiliated youth, families struggling with substance abuse and intergenerational trauma, and working with families through grief and loss. I currently am adjunct faculty at Maricopa County Community Colleges where I teach Women & Film, American Women Since 1920, and Intro to College, Career, & Personal Success. I also teach college success courses via the ACE program, which serves high achieving, at-risk high school students who are working towards earning college credit while in high school. I graduated with my Masters in Counseling degree from ASU in May 2022. I completed my clinical internship hours at La Frontera EMPACT\'s Trauma Healing Services where I was honored to work with survivors of sexual and domestic violence via individual and group counseling. I completed my Ph.D. in Gender Studies from the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University in May 2017. I have extensive experience in qualitative research working on a wide range of projects for my dissertation as well as various research assistantships.
