As Halcyon\'s Senior Director for Government Affairs and Public Policy, and a Deputy Director of our Ransomware Research Center, I pursue public policy solutions to stop ransomware that targets our clients-and all past, present, and future ransomware victims. Halcyon has powerful technical solutions and services to stop ransomware attacks on client systems. Through the Ransomware Research Center, my team is also building a reliable hub of practical intelligence reports and researched policy solutions towards a holistic, very active, and society-wide defense against ransomware.I previously served as the FBI Chief of Cyber Policy, leading a team of policy analysts and project managers to develop and coordinate the Bureau\'s internal, federal, state, local, and international cyber policy work. I was also the first Director of Operations and Incident Response at the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD). As one of its first members, I helped establish ONCD in the Executive Office of the President. Prior to this experience, I was a policy analyst and intelligence analyst for FBI Cyber.I teach cyber intelligence as an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Security Studies Program. My specialties include cyber incident response, intelligence, and national security policy. In addition to certifications in and skills in cybersecurity, my strengths include teaching, enterprise communications, knowledge management, and program and project management.
