About Mercy Ogunlade
In my time studying Geography (B.A.) and Sustainability Studies (B.A.) at The University of Texas at Austin, I learned how imperative it is to both preserve the precious land we inhabit and advocate for the communities that face the largest threats to the climate crisis going on in our environment. More research is needed within environmental intersectionality, and this has been the focus of my work throughout the years. I offer a unique perspective from growing up in an environment where my community and I were the people that faced the lack of sustainable development. Through my learning and development in sustainable architecture, ArcGIS map analysis, and MARCOM, I have created a career working through the many changes our communities still have to undergo to reach a state of longevity and equity. I am eager to continue my career that helps me utilize my diverse skillset to make a change one community at a time.
