ABOUT MERCY KIPLAGAT
I am a strategic nonprofit leader, economist, and advocate for women’s empowerment, committed to driving sustainable change through mentorship, education, and economic inclusion. As the Founder & Executive Director of Rafiki Bridge, I lead high-impact programs supporting women, refugees, and underserved communities in Toronto and across Africa. With expertise in international development, strategic partnerships, and program implementation, I work to bridge systemic gaps—ensuring marginalized groups have access to education, menstrual health resources, and economic opportunities. I am particularly passionate about shaping policies and initiatives that foster gender equity, financial literacy, and social mobility. Currently, I am focused on scaling The Bridging Circles Program, a Toronto-based initiative under Rafiki Bridge that serves newcomers, immigrants, and women of African descent facing homelessness. Through this program, we: Distribute menstrual hygiene products & essential supplies to shelters & refugee organizations. Host mentorship & life skills workshops empowering women with education & financial literacy. Advocate for policy change in menstrual health & gender-based support systems. As I continue to build impactful initiatives, I seek strategic partnerships with global organizations, corporate sponsors, and mission-driven leaders to drive meaningful change.\"Humanity is choosing to do good and being of service to others.\"
