ABOUT MERCY AKERELE
I am currently a diagnostic medical physics resident with great experience and integration in clinical settings. My routine work involves QA/QC for all imaging modalities, dose calculation and optimization, shielding calculation and verification. My current research includes estimating an age-based/patient-specific DRL for radiographic examinations; investigating the feasibility of helically-acquired CTDIvol for accurate dose estimation; analyzing the dose difference in mammography combo mode versus synthetic mode based on patient size and exposure criteria; and finally, optimizing contrast in urology fluoroscopy exams.
