As a dedicated and innovative Data Scientist, I have a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions and driving innovation in various projects. With a strong background in natural language understanding (NLU), data analysis, and Generative AI (GenAI) systems, I have successfully led and collaborated on numerous high-profile projects at Microsoft. My expertise in managing complex projects and working seamlessly with cross-functional teams has enabled me to achieve significant business objectives. I hold an MA and PhD in psycholinguistics from the University of Toronto, with a focus on natural language understanding, recognition, perception, and production of human language. I was also a recipient of the IIE Fulbright FLTA scholarship in 2008 at Syracuse University. As a Data Scientist, I specialize in implementing and optimizing NLU models and conducting data analysis. This includes designing, testing, and deploying Interactive Voice Response (IVR) solutions to enhance customer interactions and streamline processes. Recently, I have focused on creating Gen AI solutions and building GenAI evaluation frameworks for customers, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of their applications. I have also led teams of data scientists to successfully complete various projects within Continuous Optimization and Agile frameworks. As a linguist and psycholinguist PhD graduate, I have extensive experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets using statistical models. I have presented and published research on human speech processing using eye-tracking technology, language corpora, and acoustic analysis. I am fluent in Farsi/Persian and English, and familiar with French, German, and Arabic. Additionally, I have a strong background in teaching foreign languages and linguistic courses, as well as editorial and translation work. Known for my persistence in solving problems and quick learning, especially in technology-related matters, I excel both independently and within culturally diverse teams.
