ABOUT MICHAEL R.
With over 25 years of industry experience I exist somewhere between an Industrial Designer and Product Engineer, with a supporting UX and UI skillset.My interests sit in consumer and medical product development, from first principles, concept development and usability, through to detailed design and transfer to manufacture. I have spent most of my carrier working for design and engineering consultancies in the UK, Australia, Germany and the US. I am currently employed as the principle design engineer and project Technical Authority for ghd, London. My role allows me to work across Industrial Design, Engineering and User Experience Design (UX) with both the London based ID team and Cambridge based engineering team. It\'s great to be part of a really talented in-house product development team with a passion for detail, developing award winning products that bridge fashion and consumer technology.My experience at Sagentia Innovation (a science and technology driven consultancy), allowed me to work across many sector\'s including consumer technology and medical device development. My role was diverse and included element\'s of project management, supporting sales activities and business development, as well as my day to day undertakings as a hands-on industrial designer/product engineer.Over the years I have been fortunate to work on many exciting projects as part of some exceptional design and engineering teams, including numerous full medical product developments for the US, European and Asian markets. This has lead to recognition from international design awards and the development of commercially successful intellectual property. Please contact me for more information.
