ABOUT MENGDIE ZHANG
I am an amateur musician, which makes me a better engineer.I started practicing Erhu every single day since the age of 6. Years of persistence earned me praise and awards. But most importantly, I developed grit in myself.I picked up the violin looking for something different. Based on the similarities of string instruments, I was certified grade 8 violinist after one-year learning. The idea of how seemingly different things can have connections behind and improve each other deeply affects me.Later I became a member of marching band. It wasn\'t easy to march with the snare drum, and my shoulder hurts. But the nice collaboration with other members and glory of the group made my pain worth it. Though the music world varies a lot from the engineering, they both need persistent work, the ability to cope with different tasks and good collaboration - what I learnt from music.
