With 15+ years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, I have a strong skillset in relationship management, grants and project management, fund development, grant writing, institutional giving, community grant-making, community engagement, strategic partnerships, and implementing/managing capacity building with local nonprofits. In addition, I bring a strong knowledge-base and keen awareness of the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors that exist throughout the United States, with a particular focus on San Francisco and Los Angeles. My personal mission is to lend my expertise to the above sectors so that communities of need are better served and have greater opportunities for success. Equally, I am passionate and committed to developing partnerships, strategies and protocols that result in meaningful and lasting social impact for vulnerable communities, communities that experience social and economic disparities, and communities of color. Areas where the above skills have been implemented include: maternal and child health, health equity, familial mental health, education, early childhood development/youth development, college awareness and preparation, evidence-based interventions, microfinance (U.S. and international), economic mobility, women & refugee rights, gender justice/gender-based violence, and youth, community, and economic development.

Experience

  1. Philanthropy Officer

    Changent

    Apr 2018 — Present · US

As a relationship manager and front-line fundraiser for Changent, I manage a portfolio of local, regional and national philanthropic relationships with the aim of realizing annual fundraising goals. With a successful track record in acquiring gifts at the five-and six-figure level, I actively engage in all aspects of the grants management cycle, from prospecting and cultivation to solicitation, outcomes reporting, stewardship and renewal. Moreover, a key component of this role, is to develop and maintain strategic partnerships, particularly within institutional giving. In addition, I manage a number of grants, large and small, and the development of relationships with individual donors, foundations and corporations whose community giving and corporate social responsibility align with our mission. Lastly, I participate in specialized community grantmaking projects and support key programs and initiatives that advance philanthropic and partnership goals, as well as the mission and over-arching objectives of the Changent.Programs:NFP is an evidence-based, community health program with over 40 years of evidence showing significant improvements in the health and lives of first-time birthing individuals and their children living in poverty. By pairing expectant mothers with a specially trained NFP nurse during pregnancy until the child’s second birthday, NFP aims to improve pregnancy outcomes, child health and development, and self-sufficiency of the family. First helps struggling families build strong, nurturing relationships that heal and protect young children from the devastating impact of trauma and chronic stress. CF uses a two-generation approach, providing psychotherapy to parents and children together in their homes, and connecting them with the services they need to make healthy child development possible.
