About Melvin Collins

As a licensed professional counselor, certified by the Texas State Board Of Examiners of Professional Counselors, I have served clients as a counselor for the Commission For The Blind and as a general counselor in private practice. I, also, worked on the Kealing Project ( Texas Rehabilitation Commission and Austin Community College joint operation) as an intern serving individuals needing assistance with disabilities and employment issues. For more than twenty-five years, I have provided employment counseling, transition training, curriculum development, publishing of books (job search, job-readiness, transition, finance stress and more). Working with housing authorities, I wrote and developed a HUD Self-Suffiency Program which still runs today. This program assisted housing tenants in forming a plan which allows them to move beyond living in the Authority. Many went to college, purchased homes and provided a better life for themselves and their family. As a certified placement specialist, many clients have gone to achieve their life\'s goals. This may be the most rewarding part of my career. To see individuals accomplish their life\'s goals.    Self Help Learning Materials. ADAPT was a GSA Contract for more than fifteen years. ADAPT sold books and delivered trainings to the Army, Navy, Air Force and the Coast Guard. ADAPT assisted with the closure of Randolph AFB, DOD San Antonio, Red River Army Depot among others.ADAPT Publishing Company has merged with Workforce Partners Management Group, LLC
