Melody Thornton, CPA, has built a distinguished career as a one of the region’s leading tax consultants with extensive, broad-based expertise in public, private and multi-state companies. In 2012, after more than 20 years with J.H. Cohn, one of the leading accounting and consulting firms in the United States, Melody launched her own firm. Her extensive specialized experience spans the technical areas of corporate tax, including corporate tax planning, equity-based compensation, mergers and acquisitions. She also possesses a comprehensive knowledge of taxation for not-for-profit organizations and California state tax issues.An Independent Consultant for income tax matters, her “mission” is to provide comprehensive tax strategy solutions to small and mid-sized domestic businesses. Melody is committed to providing a focused and dedicated resource that enables her clients to get things done in an efficient and timely manner. Melody was certified as an instructor of the Dale Carnegie Course, has given tax presentations for CalCPA as well as to various community and business groups. She served as the President of the San Diego Chapter of CalCPA and currently serves a Committee Chair of the Statewide CalCPA Committee on Taxation.
