About Melody Nicholas
As a licensed mental health therapist, my experience encompasses working with a diverse group of individuals. I have dedicated my practice to providing support for those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, and body image concerns. Additionally, I specialize in challenges related to anxiety, sexual health and intimacy, topics specific to women and mothers, self-worth, and those who are navigating life transitions.I completed my Master’s degree from Wake Forest University and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Additionally, I am a Registered Yoga Instructor, a Mindfulness-Based Eating Qualified Instructor, and a Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Practitioner. I have also completed the core course requirements from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and am trained in Family-Based Treatment for eating disorders.I have also received training in various theory-driven and evidence-based approaches and will work with you to tailor treatment to your needs. My primary treatment modalities include existential psychotherapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and family-based treatment (FBT) for the treatment of eating disorders, as well as mindfulness techniques specific to stress reduction and eating disorders.
