ABOUT MELODY AGBISIT

Inspired by love, beauty, and kindness, Melody Agbisit is a counselor, educator, and social entrepreneur. Her mission is to teach positive thinking and self-awareness to leaders around the world. She believes that every person has a gift to give and her passion is to develop and inspire people to be the best versions of themselves.Melody is a product of intersecting Filipino and American Culture, education, military life, and creative arts. Born and raised in Virginia, she developed and implemented her first program at the tender age of 6, to increase literacy in kindergarten students. Then in high school, Melody moved into non-profit work where she served as the assistant coordinator for a mentorship program aimed at helping at-risk youth. This set the tone for her as a mental health counselor believing that people simply need someone who encourages their potential to succeed. However, a teacher and mental wellness advocate at heart, Melody decided to obtain her PhD in counselor education and supervision to train and empower not only counselors in training, but also the populations which she serves. More recently, her focus has been on Asian American representation and advocacy. Additionally, Melody has used her clinical, administrative, and creative background to impact the community both locally and abroad by providing professional and leadership development trainings, consulting with businesses and organizations, organizing events and coordinating volunteers for charities and causes, training and supervising students of all disciplines, coaching individuals and organizations with personal and professional growth concerns, and so much more. For self-care, Melody enjoys traveling to new places, hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, writing poetry, trying new foods, and sleeping. She also loves to be a human and animal aunt because you get to play with them and then give them back.
