About Melodi Bunting

My career has not followed the typical path. After spending 9 years in various accounting roles, both public and private, I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an educator. For over 20 years, I developed my skills as an educator across a variety of higher ed. programs, but I eventually returned to public accounting in 2014. In my time at Wegner CPAs, I worked almost entirely with not-for-profit clients, and I developed a passion for helping these organizations thrive. As I continued to work with my clients, I began to identify certain patterns and gaps in knowledge. I leveraged my skills developed through my years of working as an educator, mentor, and problem solver to develop a robust variety of internal and external trainings, courses, and seminars aimed at addressing some of the common issues or disconnects I came across in my role as an auditor. In 2022, I fulfilled a career goal when I co-launched Wegner CPAs\' Nonprofit Advisory Services with Scott Haumersen. As a Nonprofit Advisor, I am able to combine my decades of experience in higher education and public accounting with my passion for helping not-for-profit organizations further their missions. I am passionate about the work I do, but more importantly, I am passionate about helping my clients overcome the challenges they face.
