ABOUT MELLICA ASKARI

Hello! My name is Mellica (me-lih-kuh) and I am a recent graduate from New York University studying music (including anything from performance to the business!). I\'ve been a classically-trained double bassist since I was 13 and continued my studies into college where I played in both of the NYU Orchestras and the NYU Bass Ensemble. I\'ve always had a huge affinity for music; in my hometown of Dallas, Texas, I helped a good friend realize the creation of GoodGame Talent. Something that started out as a music platform to write, post, and share all-things music in the Dallas underground scene, quickly turned into a powerhouse of the underground by hosting live shows that uplifted, promoted, and paid artists to share their craft with the city. Having hands-on experience in the music scene in my hometown and connecting with such creative and dedicated people really inspired me to stay in entertainment for my career. I am proud of all the incredible work I\'ve been a part of and the amazing connections I\'ve made at my past internships: Artist Relations Team Lead at TOORLY, Artist Development & Marketing at Evergreen Entertainment, and Music Brand Partnerships at Roc Nation (and for one strenuous semester, they were all at the same time!). By finally getting to work in entertainment in a more professional and large-scale setting, I am now certain in the path I’ve taken and can’t wait to see where the industry takes me in the future.
