About Mel Win Khaw

Passionate about using behavioral research methods to aid design choices in creative spaces (e.g, arts and entertainment). I have extensive experience in end-to-end psychology/neuroscience/economics research — from study design to analytics and reporting. Prior to joining Xbox, I performed a wide range of academic research on human judgment and decision-making. At Duke University, I studied split-second impressions of groups and associated patterns of eye movements. At Columbia University, I worked in two interdisciplinary areas: psychology of aesthetics with art historians, and behavioral economics with macroeconomists. I obtained my PhD in neuroscience from New York University, where I worked on quantitative models of decision making, economic valuation, and brain activity.
