About Melita Menezes
I am an analytics consultant with a keen interest in Economics, Psychology and Sociology. I am equally passionate about several social issues including Mental Health, Gender, Feminism and Advocacy. As a student, I imagined the world to be my oyster (I still, kind of, do) and wanted to partake in everything that college had to offer. So with a major case of FOMO, I joined the fest workforce, volunteered with different organisations whose cause resonated with my belief system, interned with corporates and enjoyed hostel shenanigans.Now at BRIDGEi2i, story-telling fascinated me. In one of the projects, I had to map out the effects of a newly elected government in country X on country Ys economic indicators that would help my team forecast clients\' growth in Country Y. After the presentation, stakeholders from Country Y exclaimed, “Your team knows more about us and our neighbours, then we do!” That was the highlight of the entire project for me, and I had to learn R, understand time series regression, build iterative models with 90%+ accuracy and deliver at some very hard to meet deadlines. Lesson - the devil is in details and details create the big picture.Outside of the office, I seek to spread mental health awareness and make mental health care accessible to all. Today, the strongest advocates of Mental Health need strong economics evidence. I wish to join the cause by using data and a sound policy framework based on economic theories to emphasize the economic impact All of my adventures have shaped me into who I am today - A diligent, empathetic human who is an excellent team player and generally super energetic. I believe my curiosity, will ensure a lifetime of learning, earning me some incredible opportunities and introducing me to some amazing people.
