Manages and achieves the organizations overall government, community, sponsorships and communication goals of the Eastern Region that consists of the Inova Alexandria Hospital (IAH) and Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital (IMVH) communities, and provides support and recommendations on system wide positions • Leads communications and external engagement for Inova’s East Region Development plans• Manages and develops relationships with all relevant government and community stakeholders in the Eastern Region• Advocates on key system-wide and Eastern Region policy positions and priorities before key elected, appointed and community stakeholders• Identifies government and community affairs issues of importance as well as outreach opportunities within the Eastern Region impacting or requiring action on behalf of IHS /IAH/IMVH and collaborate with appropriate internal audiences on strategies to ensure visibility in the community• Develops the communications strategy, for Inova’s Eastern Region development plans, to include the new Inova Alexandria Hospital at the Landmark Mall redevelopment location, Inova Springfield Hospital, Inova Oakville at Potomac Yard and the Critical Illness Recovery Hospital at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. Develops and executes media relations, internal communications, communication events, and liaising with other members of the communication team to ensure updates and announcements are pulled through system communication channels.• Manages media requests regarding the Eastern Region, monitors news outlets, and proactively identifies media opportunities for Inova through earned, paid, and other media channels. • Identifies priority communications, engagement goals, audiences, and creates/implements comprehensive messaging strategies to inform all stakeholders (public, team members, media, and government/community officials) on Inova’s initiatives and the implementation of the Eastern Region strategy. • Creates editorial content
