ABOUT MELISSA REDSHAW

As a Legal Secretary at Birketts LLP, I have the privilege of supporting the Clean Energy Real Estate team in our Bristol office, helping to facilitate the development of renewable energy infrastructure across the UK. From solar farms to EV charging points and battery energy storage systems (BESS), our work ensures that leading energy providers can secure the land they need to power a greener future. Alongside my role, I am also the proud Co-Lead of Birketts’ Neurodiversity Network: Different Minds, and am a member of the firms\' CSR and ESG Committees.During my degree, I had a particular interest in environmental law, natural resource management, and climate change policy, so joining this team felt like a natural fit. It allows me to combine my passion for sustainability with my professional skills, and aligns with my career aspirations of becoming a solicitor within the sector. While my role is primarily administrative, I take great pride in ensuring the smooth running of our team’s operations, allowing our lawyers and fee-earners to focus on the legal intricacies of land transactions that drive the UK’s transition to clean energy.I’m incredibly grateful to work at Birketts as part of a team that aligns so closely with my personal values, working with like-minded people and making a real impact in the fight against climate change. I\'m very excited to keep learning, growing, and contributing to a more sustainable future!
