   I love the part of my job where I get to welcome employees to my register and talk with them about their purchases! I learn a lot about how people are using our products, and I get to share the knowledge I gain with other customers. I especially appreciate the verbal recognition and support shared across the team. I might not see every employee, but I hear them on the radio and know we\'re working together to create a positive and welcoming experience for all customers. In this role, I\'ve had the opportunity to practice two of my most sacred work values: One, if I don\'t know the answer, I\'ll find out the answer for you or direct you to someone who can answer your question. Two, I don\'t want to make anyone\'s job harder, so I focus on making sure I do my job well so the next person is able to do theirs. Here\'s some additional highlights of my work- Provide essential support for the project of relocating the entire store through taking the initiative to organize and pack essential items, communicating with managers what tasks I complete and and asking how I can support their work. I excel in situations where I am preparing for future work, meaning I label boxes, restock before packing, and ensure things like gift cards are organized and sorted so they\'ll be easy to stock in the new location- Educate customers on the benefits of REI membership and our goal of equitable access to outdoor activities- Support the daily goal of welcoming new members to the co-op- Operations support: unbox & sort shipments, stock shelves, ensure price tags are accurate.
