BSA has an admissions policy that gives preference to siblings and students who are homeless, in foster care, or from low performing schools. Melissa is the founding President of Anchor Strategies, an Educational Consultant Firm focused on providing organizations and people support with Career and Technical Education, Workforce Development and Leadership Coaching. Melissa served as the National Senior Vice President of Partnerships for CollegeSpring and the Founding Executive Director of CollegeSpring NY. Melissa was Executive Director of Public Giving for the NYC Department of Education. Melissa began her career as an English teacher, and then Assistant Principal at Automotive High School in Brooklyn NY before becoming Principal at Automotive in 2004. During her 5 year tenure, Automotive registered dramatic gains in student performance, was twice profiled in the New York Times.
