My first few years working at Prestige, I hit the ground running gaining experience by working on Medical devices for the Oral care industry. This included Floss Picks, Dental Guards and other Oral Care tools and accessories. With this array of products came a wide range of packaging from PP Pouches to Thermoformed blisters.Since then, I have transitioned away from Oral care and toward the Ophthalmic industry within Prestige.Learning an entirely new skill set due to the sterile packaging and high level testing that is required for an Ophthalmic product (whether considered a Drug or Medical Device).I worked more in depth with componentry suppliers (bottles, tips & caps) to build and qualify molds for our specific products. One aspect that was vastly different from Oral care is the need to Extractable & Leachable testing for Ophthalmic products and how the packaging can effect this.The requirement for this testing has made it more intensive when a packaging change is proposed, but with my knowledge, and the help of my QA team, I am able to help guide my team to the most time efficient & least costly path forward.Along with my expertise in packaging, this position requires some management of a wide range of CMOs. Although the portfolio of the Ophthalmic SKUs is not large, the amount of CMOs to manage is quiet large. Since joining the ophthalmic team, I have worked on adding 3 new CMOs to our list as well as continuing to manage the current 10 CMOs. this consisted of working with each CMOs to develop like for like packaging of the products they were to produce & problem solve any issues if the CMO was unable to meet a requirement. On top of the basic development, I am involved in all aspects of the project from stability and process validation to production of the finished good.In addition to the above, I have also had a hand in several other products from Sleep aids to Digestive health.Previously I worked as a Quality Engineer at a company that make coffee/beer machine cleaners. I have learned a lot about the quality aspect of the job (CAPAs etc.) but I have also used my chemical engineering background to help me problem solve. I had daily interaction with the operators in the manufacturing plant and that was where I learn the most. The hands on experience was a great way for me to learn about the machinery and manufacturing process\'.During my years in Quality, I participated in several audits, from ISO/NADCAP to customer audits.
