ABOUT MELISSA HEMMINGSEN

I am a North Carolina registered Interior Designer, innovator and free thinker that is passionate about delivering projects that are as unique, engaging, and as smart as the organizations they serve. I appreciate that my role as a leader meets at the intersection of a client’s brand discovery, storytelling, business strategy, internal mentoring and work environment design to create the immersive work environments that speak to my client organization’s brand and values. I am passionate about telling my client\'s story and am driven to solve a client\'s design problem by digging into how their new space\'s design can find its solution. My experience working on projects ranges from workplace design, higher-education, local and state municipal projects, schools and luxury high-rise condominiums and multi-unit family dwellings and clubhouses. Working for some of the nation and area’s premier, award winning design firms specializing in commercial offices and multi-unit family dwellings, has been one of my greatest successes. I’ve learned the necessary steps to manage people and run a successful project from the initial design phase to installation and completion. These completed projects have not only excited the clients but won local and national industry awards. In the past 27 years, my past experiences and project types have varied. I have worked with technology companies needing corporate headquarters, such as GSK, Miro, Syneos Health, NC Turnpike Authority, Avaya, Cisco, NetApp, Biogen, and Novo Nordisk. I have also designed interiors for higher education buildings with Wake Tech, residence halls for Duke University, courthouses and administrative office buildings for Durham County, and luxury high-rise condominiums with amenity spaces and healthcare. These varied experiences help to give me further understanding of a variety of client types with different work styles. Design is not one size fits all! Design is Life! I have a passion for what I do and am driven by a creative spirit and a willingness to push the envelope. My field of expertise encompasses an array of design facets, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring each project reflects a unique identity. With a hands-on approach and a knack for project management, I\'ve successfully led initiatives that have enhanced the work and learning environments of our clients.
