Technology updates so rapidly, there is no shortage of old computers. Many people don’t know how to dispose of their old technology. Manufacturers must take responsibility for the disposal of their products. Growing up, my Dad worked at Raytheon (1960 –90) and brought home outdated equipment that was being thrown out. I never opened a computer until I joined The Artisan’s Asylum, maker space in Somerville, MA in 2012. I am the recipient of surplus, left over parts, cruft, e-waste from members: artists, engineers, startups, recent MIT grads and retired professionals working on projects. The older the computer/tech the bigger and better the parts are. There is a limited supply of the most beautiful parts. This piece is one of a kind and will only become rarer in the future.I see disassembled components as abstract forms. The myriad of colors, materials, textures and designs inspire me. I combine 2D color and pattern with 3D spacial relationships to compose strong abstract compositions. Special orders are welcome. Send me your tech and I will transform it into structural poetry.
