Proactively patrol Metrolinx property in a uniformed capacity as a Special Constable with Sworn Peace Officer status, providing the first level of emergency response when responding to calls for service• Ensure consistent and non-discriminatory enforcement of provincial and federal statutes and by-laws pertaining to the conduct of patrons, fare inspections, liquor offences, and parking control• Issue appropriate notices of violation, offence notices, summonses or appearance notices to individuals for non-compliance • Perform tasks such as de-escalation of volatile situations, conflict resolution, crowd control, searching of Metrolinx premises, protecting site or evidence, obtaining statements from witnesses, and providing first aid and/or assistance to passengers, employees, and emergency services• Thorough understanding of provincial and federal statutes and by-laws, including the Criminal Code, Metrolinx By-Law No. 2, the Trespass to Property Act, the Mental Health Act, and the Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA)• Maintain operating protocol with railway and regional police services and all levels of court services within the jurisdictions serviced by Metrolinx. Prepare appropriate police occurrence and supplementary reports, detailed witness statements and crown briefs. Secure, maintain and present evidence for prosecution in the different levels of court
