ABOUT MELISSA BIRD

An accomplished professional with more than 15 years of progressive experience in fast-paced environments, Melissa is the founder of MB2 Communications, an agency focused on helping companies strengthen the bond with their stakeholders to promote business longevity, enhance communications, enrich brand reputation, and navigate a crisis or issue. Among Melissa\'s strengths are her communication and analytical skills in brand strategy, media relations, event management, and community leadership. She is detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated with a track record of stakeholder satisfaction and strategic insight. Melissa also has years of experience building a team or department from start-up through growth stages. Her background includes working with iconic global brands including ESPN, the National Weather Center, Walt Disney World, the NY Mets, and other major and minor league sports organizations. As a Key Spouse for the 189th Intelligence Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard and a Certified Project Manager, Melissa is an expert at equipping teams to work together effectively through change and crisis. Melissa has a diverse academic background. With an undergraduate degree in Journalism & PR, Melissa knows how to favorably position the reputation of her clients in the public eye. Her MBA in Sports Management equips her with the knowledge and skills to creatively and innovatively lead a team toward a common goal. She also has served as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Oklahoma and Guest Lecturer at both the University of Oklahoma and St. John’s University.
