As an SSRP Mentee, I collect and research articles relating to our hypotheses and write literature reviews from our collected articles.

ABOUT MELISSA AYALA
Hi! I’m Melissa, a senior Political Economy major at UC Berkeley with a focus on International Development and a minor in History. I’m deeply interested in understanding the intersection of economic policies, government, and their impact on communities worldwide.As a first-generation Brazilian and Salvadoran student, I’m committed to advocating for and empowering underrepresented groups. Currently, I serve as Co-Executive Director of Central Americans for Empowerment and previously led as President of Berkeley\'s first South American Student Association. These leadership experiences have allowed me to build community and create opportunities for historically marginalized voices in higher education.Outside of academics, I enjoy curating music playlists and indulging in acai bowls.I\'m always willing to connect and chat at m•••••••@berkeley.edu
