About Mel Honeycutt

Mel Honeycutt is an interior designer at Surface Architecture & Design in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Her love for design and architecture stems from watching her dad renovate several of her family’s homes as she was growing up, and his keen eye for design. The driving force behind her decision to obtain her second bachelor’s degree was the desire to exercise creativity and design in her work. Much of her design inspiration comes from the countries she has visited. Mel loves traveling abroad with her husband, and enjoys experiencing different cultures and seeing how people outside of the United States live their daily lives. She graduated from The University of Tennessee - Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Architecture. She has also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and has worked in event planning, marketing, advertising, and community relations. Mel works best in environments that energize her creativity, and foster relationships. She is a goal-oriented team player that can easily adapt to different environments.
