About Melanie Zehnder

At Foundation for Blind Children, we have programs for Transition Aged Youth (ages 14 - 21): Teen-To-Work, College Prep, Trailblazers, and S.O.A.R, focusing on essential life skills and work experience for young adults with blindness or low vision. Our Transition Programs offer workshops, residential programs, community outreach, and support with referrals for state services. My team and I aim to see successful transition of these young adults into higher education and employment. I love the work that I get to do being able to foster independence and self-advocacy in young adults and strive to be aligned with my organization\'s culture of inclusive services.
