ABOUT MELANIE RIDDICK
I\'m a highly-disciplined professional who has spent more than 15 years developing leadership skills while serving as an implementer of solutions. Known as a passionate and committed team player, I am relationship-driven and detail-oriented. My primary goal is to lead teams to achieve functional excellence through team-building and strength-finding, adherence to compliance requirements and customer-centric deadlines, and via thorough investigative analysis of data and detail. Over the past two decades, I have supported a variety of large and small businesses, both privately-held and non-profits and through varying positions, allowing me to enhance my leadership skills and hone my knowledge of both the business and non-profit sectors. Specifically as an Executive Director at a national non-profit organization, I focused on building an engaged, effective team and positioning the relatively young organization for strategic and sustainable growth. Key objectives included empowering and coaching staff, supporting the Board of Directors, and diversifying revenue to meet or exceed budget projections, including both financial and operational management. Additionally, creation and oversight of other strategic activities necessary to maximize our ability to achieve both our mission and annual objectives was crucial to my role. Prior to my time in the non-profit sector, my work at several for-profit small businesses exposed me to critical business operations at an early stage in my career. In my current role at a global mid-size privately-held event planning company, I serve as a key contributor to the development of the operational and system road map for the company\'s finance team. I\'m primarily responsible for leading system and process improvements across the finance department. Additionally, I manage the transparency financial reporting process for healthcare professionals attending meetings hosted by our clients in the Pharma/Biotech industries in addition to a variety of other financial compliance responsibilities.In addition to completing a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, I have also completed the Mini MBA Certificate program at Belmont University and both the Revenue Development Certificate and Nonprofit Leadership Certificate programs at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence in Nashville.
